So are we, but the 24th is still workday here, and the kids are expecting Santa Claus on the morning of Christmas Day.
Merry Christmas and a happy new Year to you, Birgitte, hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Thank you, Erika, and Merry Christmas to you too. I hope Santa Claus will be a success, and give the children a good memory of the day.

Here we celebrate on the 25th, but I got to keep the German tradition of celebrating on Christmas Eve 🙂

That´s nice. You are doing the same as Scott, then. No one will complain about two celebrations, I guess. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Michaela.

Between mine and my wife’s families, we celebrate both on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

I must say, I am impressed with the use of bicycles for transportation in those conditions.

This sounds very nice and cozy,I wouldn´t mind doing the same. I wish you and your family a happy Christmas, both eve and day.

About the bikes; everyone is used to the situation, so the car drivers know that they have to be careful. Folks on bikes are BTW very agresive, if a car doesn´t respect them, – shouting and even kick on the cart is normal here, as reaction. 🙂

It does look a bit dangerous… Are you cycling on those icy roads ? We will celebrate Christmas Eve at home and Christmas Day at my sister’s (+ extended family); it may well be a White Christmas, more snow is forecast tonight. Have a beautiful celebration, dear giiid. Many thanks for all you have shared over this year, it’s a pleasure to visit you always.

Yes I am biking, but not as much as I use to. It is not as problematic as it looks. Thank you for your kind words, I am always glad to read your comments. I wish you a happy Christmas together with your family, Isa, and look forward to see if you will post some Christmas impressions.

Snow, frost, black ice . . . let me hop on my bicycle and go shopping! The Danes are an intrepid people.

Have a lovely Christmas eve and Christmas day however you travel!

A new word as Christmas present, intrepid. This is a good word, that I would love to find use for. I´m not sure that we are so intrepid, remember we are wearing all kind of safety equipment, helmets, lights, reflexes, we have cycle paths and rules that everyone has got used to. Foreigners on bikes sometimes makes this habituation conspicuous, when they behave unexpected – and by that also dangerously for themself.

I wish a Merry Christmas to you and all the family, with two ore more legs. (Of course also to any with only one leg, if there should be such a person.)

    What is black ice, Giiid?

    • Giiid on

Black ice is a situation with very cold and icy streets, which look as if they were normal, the street is black as usual, but totally slippery. It happens sometimes in clear and cold weather. It is very dangerous and difficult to drive at, of course.
