The white forest floor

This is the sign of spring in Denmark,  Anemone nemorosa all over the forest floor. In a few weeks, when the trees get their leaves back,  they are all gone.

Spring is near :-)

Winter essay 1

Winters around the world are quite different. It would be good if you could record your thoughts and impressions in a short photo essay.

I replied:
That is a great idea, I hope you will ask other bloggers too. You could make an assignment like Scott Thomas did last month.
The winter in Denmark can be both very cold with frost and snow, and mild with just rain. I will try to make an essay that covers the different types of weather. As a start, I have collected some of the “Frost and snow” pictures, as this is how it has been for some weeks now.

PS. Please notice, that Scott Thomas just made a new assignment. Read more about it here.

Kongens have "the Kings garden"

This photo was taken from Kongens have – The Kings garden-  in Copenhagen, on a very cold day.

From the old tree

These sculptures, made out of an old tree, could possibly be of special interest for Erika, who are working with 3D scultures, and for maantas, that are working with 3D in computer world.

The letters are saying: “De higer og søger, i gamle bøger”, which means something like “They are looking in old books searching for answers”. This line is the beginning of a famous poem written by Adam Oehlenschläger, about a treasure that was found some centuries ago decorated with unknown symbols.

Wikipedia will tell you the rest of this very interesting story of a Danish symbol.
