Pictures from (old) Denmark (6)

open air museum Denmark

These pictures are from the open air museum “Frilandsmuseet”, a wonderful place to visit, “Spread across 86 acres of land today the museum houses more than 50 farms, mills and houses from the period 1650-1950.”

These sculptures, made out of an old tree, could possibly be of special interest for Erika, who are working with 3D scultures, and for maantas, that are working with 3D in computer world.

The letters are saying: “De higer og søger, i gamle bøger”, which means something like “They are looking in old books searching for answers”. This line is the beginning of a famous poem written by Adam Oehlenschläger, about a treasure that was found some centuries ago decorated with unknown symbols.

Wikipedia will tell you the rest of this very interesting story of a Danish symbol.
