10 years

blue curtain lille

2018, and 10 years of blogging. Time to thank all kind people who have made it possible, by viewing, commenting and liking the photos I have shown. Little by little, a nice community of bloggers appeared, and for some years we even made fun photo assignments, that made us know even more blogs. 10 years of blogging, and 10 years of making friends from all over the world. And 10 years of language exercises. I am looking forward to a Good New Year to come.

Happy Valentine´s Day

Sartenada from Finland has kindly send me a “Versatile blog award”. With the award follows some rules; one has to tell 7 things about oneself, and to pass the award to another 15 bloggers. First of all I want to thank Sartenada for thinking of me, that was really very kind, thank you!

I’m not sure I am a good award receiver though, because I´ve never been good at following rules. I´ll blame my creative mind for seeing rules as ideas just waiting to be worked with. That is, some rules of course, there are exceptions! I really appreciate that Sartenada probably have followed every rule, while working with flight security.
Telling about myself would be difficult, and choosing who to give the award even more, because all of you deserve an appreciation for your inspiring blogs and for the many wonderful comments and answers you produce.

Blogging is a great thing. The possibility of exchanging thoughts, fun stuff or strange observations, learning about other cultures and habits, finding out that ones personal eccentricity isn´t that unusual – or that others are just as crazy, is worth all the hours in front of the computer and too little time for exercise. In other words, I´m awarding you all, for also spending too much time in front of your computers, and having too little time for exercise. I love you and I love your blogs.

Happy Valentine´s Day.

Linking about Christmas ornaments…

Christmas ornament from Sweden

I wrote about Danish Christmas traditions in December, and took some photos of old ornaments, that I have from my mother. One of them was of unknown origin, and I didn´t post its photo.

My blogfriend Mrs. UHDD  Uphilldowndale  (England) mentioned  my Christmas-writting  at her blog  and made a link.  A blogfriend of Mrs. UHDD, Gerry (USA), followed the link, read my post, and decided to write about  their old family ornaments from Sweden . I went to read Mrs. UHDD´s blog yesterday, and afterwards to read Gerrys post about the Swedish ornaments…and what did I see…the ornament that I didn´t know the story about. As my mother in her younger days was living in sweden for a while, this ornament must have been some of the Swedish things that she brought back to Denmark.

This was great to find out. But the story doesn´t end here. Some hours later, still yesterday, “Madsilence” (USA) a blogfriend of my blogfriend Erika (Canada), wrote a comment to my posts about straw ornaments, about their old ornaments from Poland .

Now, the reason why I am telling you all this, is just to show a daily picture of the joy and advantage of blogging 🙂
