Ladybird
Looks like we will get good weather again pretty soon.
Summer
It is summer, the weather has been very good for several weeks. Plants and grass are probably happy that the heat has been taken over by rain and gray clouds, lasting one week from now or more. Time to go inside and look for all the sweaters and warm clothes, which have been stored somewhere in a moment of “weatherly” optimism.
Sunshine at flowers
In between all the ice and snow photos, it´s good to see colors again.

Then comes 3 months of autumn and time to prepare for the winter. This summer have been very warm and sunny, with temperatures over 30 degrees. I wouldn’t mind the sun and its warmth to stay close to us a bit longer, but I guess folks on the other side of the planet are waiting and looking forward to use their swimsuits, – so that would be a bit unfair. Luckily I have all the photos, hopefully enough to keep the blog warm for a while.
A very wet Great tit
My third everyday photo in the Facebook challenge is a good example of how everyday can be extraordinary if one keep eyes and ears open. I heard sounds from a water filled previous sandbox, which we had left, behind a barn. Probably an animal playing – it was very a hot day. Quietly I went there with my camera ready, expecting to see a funny sight and get a nice shot.
But what I saw was a little bird which had fallen into the water, probably on its first attempt to fly. I quickly grabbed a spade, and lifted the little wet bird – a Great tit – up from the water, – it looked as it was almost dead. Next thing was to let the warm sun dry the feathers, it took a while, and the little thing had to rest in the meantime, but slowly it began to look like a bird again. About an hour later, it raised its little head and looked at me as if saying: “…What are you staring at, have you never seen a bird before?…” Then it took two or three bird-jumps into the green bush, and in less than a second its mother was by its side, ready to feed it. Wow, I had saved a bird, that was..great..tit.
“…What are you staring at, have you never seen a bird before?…”
Holiday end
Holiday season is over, schools have started again and I will continue blogging after a break. July is high season for holiday in Denmark, because schools are closed from late June to start of August. During my vacation, Scott Thomas held his 26 assignment, which I unfortunately was unable to take part in. The subject was “summertime, – pictures which invites to a visit”, so even it is too late to join, I can´t resist to look in my image folder to see if I can find some which could lead to a visit to Denmark. I´ll post them later.
Hopefully the summer has been good and inspiring for you. I will be looking forward to a new and energetic blogging period.
