So this was Christmas

Update:  Michaela´s comment mentioning the real candles, remind me of a story:

Accidents caused by real candles happens, or are being avoided in the last moment. As when my great grandmother was walking around the tree together with all of my big family, many years ago. Slowly of course, she was old. Someone had given her a NISSE hat (santa Clause hat)on, a long red hat with  a cotton ball in the end…now you probably can imagine what happened next…the cotton ball hit a candle and began to burn. “Daddy, great grandmother´s hat is burning”…… she didn´t hear this, and she had to look down most of the time to keep the balance,  so my father grab the hat, stepped on the fire, and returned the hat on her head, without her noticing it. I can still see her raise her head and ask with a smile; What?? And my father answered  “Nothing. Keep walking”.

There is one question that gets the major attention  in December; will the Christmas be white or not. This year, I haven´t heard it discussed. The question this year has mainly been how to handle such a white Christmas. Tonights snowstorm has closed many roads, and in some areas people have been asked to stay home. In the area of Copenhagen, it hasn´t been that bad, and I went to the city to do some shopping. I had a lot of time to take photos, because the bus was so delayed. Never bored with a camera in hand, but it was a bit COLD.

December 22

Everyone is busy now, only 2 days before Christmas. In this part of the world celebrated at dec 24. The trafic has gone chaotic in many areas, because of snow, frost and black ice.

Christmas tree in front of the cafe.

December 16

A quick shot in between my shopping this evening. More snow.

December 15

A very very cold frosty evening in Tivoli. The little shop selling gloves was full of people with blue fingers.

If you once had tasted a Danish hot dog, you will probably also be looking for a hot-dog stand as the first thing to do, having arrived Copenhagen. This is called a Pølsevogn. (sausage wagon)
