My rainy hometown
My intention was to find historical places a sunny day, but reality has often other plans. After a warm period, the weather has changed and is now as unreliable as it use to be. My contribution to Scotts assignment became a stack of wet and blurred photos, taken from the car. While it was running. I suppose you can call them snap shots, at least I was surprised to find some which could be used. I still have plans for going a sunny day, but who knows when that will be…more rain tomorrow. I´ll tell more about the buildings later.
I suppose you have heard about the beer Tuborg? The old building seen from “Tuborgvej” (Tuborg-street).
We buy a lot of rainwear in this country. Østerbrogade (East-bridge-street) is from 1647.

It’s a great comfort to see that someone else has the same inscrutable weather. The images are entirely apt. I look forward to the stories. Especially about the Eastport train station! And I must say that’s a nice little boat.
Alright Gerry, I thought I could escape doing my history work by just mentioning it, and then let time pass, but of course I should have remembered that you both are an enthusiastic and acute thinker and that you love history. So, I guess I have to keep my promise. Actually I like the station too, the building is almost cute, and the area is a nice and calm place. Østerport station is on the list.
Well, I wish we had just a little of your rain, Birgitte. Everything is so dry over here. Splashes or drops of rain, a blurry or even misty look add some sort of “Poesia” 😉 to your images and I like that.
Hi Isa. Have you had sunshine for a long time? I thought the rainy weather was all over Europe. I hope you will get some rain then. Sunshine is nice, but not too much, the danger of fire is too big then. There was one in Jylland some months ago, which burned a very big area. I´ve heard that the temperature will increase about 3-4 degrees over the next 100 years, I wonder how the weather will behave then.
This was a lot of weather-talk, If you haven´t noticed this before, I can tell you that Danes loves to talk about the weather. 🙂
Birgitte, I like your photos from the car. I like the way the swinging traffic signal wires look. There is the feel of a rainy day to your post, and it makes the historical piece feel different from a sunny-day photography session. I am glad you played along.

I agree with everyone – you’ve really encapsulated what a ‘rainy day’ looks like in your country! It makes me long for a warm fireplace, a cosy blanket, a snuggling cat, a riveting book, and a mug of hot chocolate. Sigh…
Oh yes, you would do fine here, I can tell. One thing you can´t see though is that it isn´t that cold, just wet.

giiid, the photos look great. I think the first photo really sums it up. The rain is good for the garden, but too much can drowned it also.
Until now there has been a good mix of sun and rain here, but more ekstreme than before . When it rains, it almost become cloudburst, and when the sun shines, we are warned to go out without sun balm, because the ozone layer is the thinnest in 25 years, and the UV factor very high for this country, and too high for the nordic light skin.
