Withered and beautiful tulips

January is a very dark month in Denmark. We are longing for the sun, for the flowers and the colors. Luckily we can buy tulips now, and put them in vases inside the house. They are beautiful but they don´t last forever, and the sight of a bunch of withered flowers is nearly as sad as the dark winter. At least from a distance. At a closer look, the beauty is still there, it´s just the “story” that have changed. Maybe to End-of season dance ?
The new “concert house” in Copenhagen.

My contribution to the assignment is pictures of the new Concert hall (Koncert huset) in Copenhagen. The grand opening was 17.1.09.
” The opening of Koncerthuset means a national and international concert venue for Denmark and a new architectural landmark for the capital. Jean Nouvel’s unique building puts Copenhagen on a level with other cities around the world which provide the best modern acoustic and visual setting for concertgoers.”
Assignment
My blogfriend Scott Thomas has made an assignment:
“The theme for our Collective Shoot is to photograph a Local Area Landmark in your hometown and tell us about it. Landmarks can be buildings, geographical formations, natural areas, or historic places. The landmark does not have to be world famous but known to your community. The time of this shoot runs from now until midnight (your local time) next Wednesday, January 28, 2009.”If you want to join, please read more about it here: http://stphoto.wordpress.com/

We need some colors

At this time of year, we don´t see many colors around here, and I enjoyed seeing the Malaysian sunshine at visuallens Hiiscusplants. I have to bring some color to this blog too, so here is another reflection photo from autumn.
