Celebrating Halloween Halloween in Denmark is a new idea, and still not a tradition, but the interesse is increasing as events happens.
The american ambassador in Denmark James Cain who is living in this area, invited all children at the neighborhood, to come and have some candy at his house. A google translation of the news (demands some creativity to read) here. The head line says: “You haven´t seen the ambassador like this before”

This beautiful photo is from my husbands travel to Greenland. I was planning to show it to you today. This morning, the Newspaper headline was saying:
Wintertrees festival
The trees are preparing for the great “winter tree” festival, to the delight of my blogfriend Babs and other winter-tree fans. Maantas too, maybe? There are still leaves to see, at most trees, but not for long. I am ready with the camera!

Gray “potatoes holiday”-day
All the schools are closed this week, because of the yearly autumn-holiday or “Potatoes holiday”. This holiday are always in week number 42 (we are using week numbers, I understand that it isn´t common everywhere?) and originally made to make it possible for the school children to work at the farms with collecting potatoes. Today the potatoes holiday are a week full of entertainments for kids or holidays far away from Danish potatoes. For the ones that stayed at home, this was the sight of day 4.
