Greenland
My husband came back from Greenland today, after one week at the beautiful island. Here is some of the pictures he took. Icebergs, still here, but not long. The ice is melting very fast, much faster than expected. This is sad and very worrying.
About the relation between Denmark and Greenland
Greenland is a self-governing Danish province located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Though physiographically and ethnically an Arctic island nation and geographically a part of the continent of North America, politically and historically Greenland is associated with Europe, specifically Iceland, Norway, and Denmark. In 1978, Denmark granted home rule to Greenland, making it an equal member of the Rigsfællesskab (community). Greenland is, by area, the world’s largest island which is not a continent in its own right.
