Double rainbow

Looking at my blogroll link The Art of Astorian Housewifery , I saw that it is possible to find one end of the rainbow in Astoria. The other end can be seen here in Denmark. Sometimes even double.

A patchwork

Looking at the computer for something colorful to place here, I found this picture of a patchwork that made many years ago.

Wintertrees for Babs

I love to have comments at the blog, and now that I know that Babs awalkabout loves winter-trees, I want to thank her (Thankyou Babs) for sending me a lot, by uploading these pictures. One of the two trees is 800 years old, it lives near by.

Together in stormy weather

Photography is one of my big passions.  My grandmother gave me my first little plastic camera when I was about 6 -7 years old. Oh what a wonderful toy. (Producing a bit strange motives though.) She, and her father before her, was photographs, and I think that she took it for granted, that a 6-7 year old child just can´t wait any longer for seeing the world through a lens. Plastic or not. She was right. I have been seeing the world in 24×36 mm ever since, – now days the messures have changed, but the joy are the same.

And the next generation? My son had his first camera when he was about 6-7 years old….now, 10 years later, nothing escapes our two lenses!

The look of summer

taks.jpg

I just need to remember the look of summer, as we have very cold and dark weather in Denmark today.

Are you afraid of spiders?

edderkop-1.jpg

I´m sure that it will please this little one if you are, in any case that is the point of looking so dangerous. As far as I know, we don´t have any poisonous spiders here in Denmark, – if we have, don´t tell me. Of course some of our spiders can bite, but only if you insist on it, by teasing them. Don´t let this cancel your visit here, we will welcome you in peace, both spiders and Danes.

Some cold leaves,

and some nice Danish words about the cold weather, written by Steen Steensen Blicher. Unfortunately, I can´t translate them, but you can read about the famous Danish writer here: http://www.denmark.dk/en/menu/AboutDenmark/TheDanes/

The words in Danish:

Det er koldt herude,
ravne skrige, ugler tude,
søge føde, søge læ.
Kragen spanker om med skaden
højt på rygningen af laden,
skeler til det tamme kræ.

Steen Steensen Blicher, 1838
